OGLETHORPE, GA - Coleman Jackson Teal, Jr., age 64, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015 at his home. Visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Whitewater Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Chris Hall officiating. Mr. Teal will be interred at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park in Montezuma, GA.
Mr. Teal was born January 26, 1951 in Thomaston, GA to Newana Adair Teal and the late Coleman Jackson Teal, Sr. He was employed by South Georgia Technical College as a diesel technology instructor and retired after thirty-one years of service. Mr. Teal was an avid hunter and enjoyed playing gospel and bluegrass music with his friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Teal.
Mr. Teal is survived by his mother, Newana Teal of Auburndale, FL; his wife of forty-three years, Carol Teal of Oglethorpe, GA, two sons: Adam Teal of Oglethorpe, GA and Jeremy Teal of Birmingham, AL; and one daughter, Sarah Teal of Oglethorpe, GA. He also leaves behind two brothers: Colin (Kathy) Teal of Mulberry, FL and Michael Teal of Auburndale, FL; two sisters: Sharon Fields of Orlando, FL and Melenda Teal of Auburndale, FL; two brothers-in-law: Richard (Alice) Hall and Robert (Charlotte) Hall; three sisters-in-law: Brenda (J.C.) Lamberth, Linda (Don) Byers, Wendy (Randy) Nelson; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he loved dearly.
