Clifford Eugene Beard
November 22, 1934 — April 21, 2018
He was born in Montezuma on November 22, 1934 to the late Conley Ward Beard and Mamie Estelle Hayes Beard. A proud veteran, he served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea and North Africa. Later, Clifford worked as a refrigeration technician at McKenzie Southern Frozen Foods in Montezuma.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in Watson-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Truitt officiating. Burial will follow at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park with military honors.
Family will receive friends at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
His memory will forever be treasured by his four children: Carl Junior Ward (Connie) of Southport, FL, Johnny Ray Ward (Sylvia) of Warner Robins, GA., Kenneth Earl Phillips (Norma) of Mexico, Wanda Carol Phillips Olive (Al) of Louisville, GA and a sister, Emily Nobles of Americus, GA. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 27 great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Clifford is preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Edylene Plunkett Beard and eight siblings: Marvin Beard, Major Beard, Theron Beard, Mary Ann Beard Parks, Ralph Andrew Beard, Raymond Beard, Jeff Conley Beard and Revy Arlene Beard Perry.
