Claude Raiford Felker

Claude Raiford Felker, age 80, of Dooling, GA passed away Thursday morning, May 7, 2009 at his residence.

Visitation with family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Cedar Valley Baptist Church in Montezuma with Rev. Michael Truitt and Rev. Robuck Burch officiating. Burial will follow in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in Montezuma.

He was born on March 5, 1929 in Macon County, GA to the late Claude F. Felker and Ouida Kelley Felker. He was a retired civil service employee from Robins Air Force Base. After retiring, he served as a respiratory therapist with Dooly and Houston County Medical Centers. He was a member of Cedar Valley Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, sang in the choir and was member of the Homemakers Sunday School Class. He was Past Master of the Masonic Lodge where he received his 50 year pin. He loved his family and was an avid fisherman and gardener and loved gospel music.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Bailey Felker of Dooling, GA; children, Evelyn (Jimmy) Folds of Tifton, GA, Martha (David) Lowery of Dooling, GA, David (Angela) Felker of Elijay, GA; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Folds Anderson, Wendy Folds Weiglein, Skyler Folds, Bobby Golden, April Felker Hogan, Lee Felker and Kelly Felker; five great grandchildren, Aven Anderson, Lily Weiglein, Taurean Golden, Tyler and Sam Hogan; sister, Elaine Wilson of Columbus, GA. He was preceded in death by his son, Walter Felker.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Cedar Valley Baptist Church or Dooling Baptist Church.

Watson-Mathews Funeral Home of Montezuma has charge of funeral arrangements.
