RUPERT, GA - Clara Johnson, age 71, of Rupert, Ga passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Flint River Hospital after a brief illness.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home.At other times the family may be contacted at the daughters residence (Kathy Crook) at 6948 State Route 90 East in Montezuma.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2012 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Chris Carter and Rev. Chuck Keenan officiating.
Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery in Byromville.
Mrs. Johnson was born February 15, 1941 to the late Vasco and Mary Standridge Rogers. She enjoyed watching movies and working puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Johnson, two sons Robert Johnson and Randall Kim Jones, and a brother, Eddie Rogers.
She is survived by her children Kathy (Ronnie) Crook of Montezuma, Ga; William Johnson of Oglethorpe, Ga; Judy (Russell) Clark of Rupert, Ga; and Monica (Larry) Pritchard of Americus, Ga; a brother, Freddie (Margaret) Rogers of Oglethorpe, Ga; two sisters, Connie (Bud) Crawford of Kathleen, Ga, and Wessie (Otis) Messer of Oglethorpe, Ga; and a daughter-in-law, Amy R. Johnson or Oglethorpe, Ga. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Rebecca Brant, Bailee Johnson, Madison Johnson, Rhonda Wicker, Brittany Pritchard, Sonya Hudson, Jeffrey Green, Johnny Green, and Ryan Johnson; thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
