Christine Layfield Griffin

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Oglethorpe Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, GA with Rev. Rex Odom and Rev. Richard Taylor officiating the service. Burial will immediately follow in the Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in Montezuma, GA.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday before the service from 1:30 P.M. until the service time at 3:00 P.M.
Mrs. Griffin was born July 25, 1932 in Oglethorpe, GA to the late Edmond "Ed" Layfield and Pearl Felker Layfield. She was a homemaker and a member of New Life Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Griffin; 2 sisters, Corene Odom and Iva Gentry; 6 brothers, Johnny Layfield, Herman Layfield, William Layfield, Carl Layfield, Calvin Layfield and Willmon Layfield.
Survivors include her daughter, Dot Woodard of Oglethorpe, GA; grandson, Michael Bellew and his wife Gwen of Perry, GA; 3 great grandchildren, Caitlyn Bellew of Cordele, GA, Remington Bellew of Perry, GA and Audrey Duncan of Warner Robins, GA; sister, Dorothy Stafford and her husband Ralph of Dawson, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.
