OGLETHORPE, GA - Mr. Charles Franklin Holland, Sr., age 77, of Oglethorpe, GA passed away Monday night, November 20, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, Nov. 22nd in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA. Rev. Kenneth Hawk and Rev. Lee Hyatt will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Holland was a native of Dooly County, GA, but had lived in Macon County, GA for the past 58 years. He was the son of the late Luther and Annie Pearl Bowen Holland. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Earl Holland.
Mr. Holland was a truck driver having worked for several companies. He started his own trucking company in 1985 and retired in 2010. He was a member of Oglethorpe Church of Christ in Oglethorpe, GA.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley Bellew Holland of Oglethorpe, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Sherrie Holland of Oglethorpe, GA; granddaughter, Brittnea Holland of Americus, GA; two sisters, Betty Joyce Simmons and her husband Bobby of Springfield, Virginia and Sarah Holland of Newton, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.
