Mr. Charles Marion Cannon, Sr., age 74, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Heart of Georgia Hospice in Perry, Georgia with his family by his side.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Macon County High School Gymnasium. Matt Johnson will open with prayer and P. J. Hughes, his grandson, will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Ideal City Cemetery.

Born on January 27, 1947, in Montezuma, Georgia, the son of the late Dalton Lucas Cannon and Christine Gilbert Cannon.Mr. Charles served as Sheriff for Macon County for over 40 years, from 1976 until 2016. He loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving spouse, Joan Cannon, of Montezuma, GA, two sons; Jeff Connelly (Michelle) of Monroe, GA, and Jamey Cannon (Angela) of Oglethorpe, GA., a daughter, Sydney Hughes (Bobby) of Cartersville, GA, a brother, Larry Cannon (Cindy) of Ideal, GA.; nine grandchildren: P. J. Hughes (Haley), Danielle Bailey (Dylan), Katie Hughes, Haley Stewart (Preston), Carrie Harris (Jackson), Chas Cannon (Hannah) Kelsi Cannon, Olivia Connelly and Aiden Hobbs.Also, surviving are six great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, CharlesMarion Cannon, Jr., and brother, Dalton Harold Cannon.
