MONTEZUMA, GA - Cary Michael Carter, 62, of Montezuma, GA passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013 at his home.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma. At other times the family will be at the residence, 519 College Street in Montezuma.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Montezuma. Rev. LaMon Brown and Rev. Jason Chandler will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park with military honors rendered by the Army National Honor Guard.
Cary Michael Carter was born on March 20, 1951 in Americus, GA to Virgil Royal Carter and Jency Giles Carter. Cary graduated from Macon County High School, class of 1969. Cary worked for Fulcrum Construction in Atlanta, before his health declined. Cary served in the Army National Guard. Cary's hobbies and interests included fishing, hunting and gardening. Cary was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church of Montezuma.
He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Royal Carter and a sister, Jency Carter Nettles.
Cary is survived by his mother, Jency Giles Carter of Ideal, GA; four children, Christina Lucy Carter of Canton, GA, Rachel Caroline Carter, Michael Giles Carter and Matthew Kirk Carter all of Woodstock, GA. three sisters, Cherry Carter of Columbus, GA, Candy Page of Ideal, GA, and Charm Carter of Oglethorpe, GA; one brother, Kim Carter of Columbus, GA; three grandchildren, Michael, Isaac and Daisy; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends survive.
