Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home and Rev. Tim Ferguson will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens.
Born July 2, 1959, in Tifton, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Bud Harris Young and Rose Marie Apperson Young.
Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a sweet and loving person and will be greatly missed.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her sister, Bonnie Marie Young Parks of Oglethorpe, Georgia; two nieces, April Bullard (Shane) of Ellaville, Georgia, and their six children: Breanna, Dakota, Lara, Destiny, Brandon, and Katie as well as Tyler Cromer and Shelbie Everidge; Shauna Raburn of Oglethorpe, Georgia and her three children, Ashley, Morgan, and Austin; six nephews: John Crowe (Ricky Crowe-Lockerman) of Marshallville, Georgia, Zackery Fletcher (Courtney) of Tennessee and their eight children: Kendall, Kayleigh, Kailer, Kyler, Kiptyn, Riley, Jase and Pasilee, and Christopher Fletcher (Kristen) of Tennessee and children William and Madison; Bradley Hortman (Mia) and their two children, Cas and Coda, Miles Tatum (Nicole) and their child, Molly, and a sister-in-law, Connie Fletcher of Tennessee and brother-in-law, Johnny Smith of Oglethorpe and her caregiver Shantel Brown of Oglethorpe, Georgia and a special friend, Billy Hortman.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her two siblings: Jackie Smith and James Fletcher.
Flowers will be accepted.
