Carolyn Virginia Shackelford, age 75, of Ideal, GA passed away, Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA.

Visitation was from 7 to 9 PM., Friday, April 23 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.

Funeral services were held at 2 PM., Saturday, April 24 at Ideal United Methodist Church with Rev. Hershel Standard, Rev. Lee Pettis and Rev. Mark Poole officiating. Burial followed in Ideal City Cemetery.

Born December 22, 1934 in Sylvester, GA to the late Luther Willis and Imogene Powell. She was a retired teller from CB&T Bank in Montezuma and a member of the TOP of Georgia.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Shackelford of Ideal, GA; son, Johnny (Sheryl) Brooks of Ideal, GA; daughter, Jeannie (Buddy) Turner of Leesburg, GA; step-son, Richard (Janice) Shackelford of Long Island, NY; step-daughter, Rhonda (Dan) Mellen of Harvest, AL; two granddaughters, Leiah (Richard) Ray of Chickamauga, GA; Lindsay Holloway of Ideal, GA; great-granddaughter, Jayden Holloway of Ideal, GA; sister, Laura Willis of Atlanta, GA.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, John Chappell Brooks and brother, Larry Willis.
