Carol Jean Britt

Carol Jean Word Britt, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Thursday,
December 26, 2024.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 11 am
at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens.

Carol was born on June 22, 1947 to the late Robert W. Word Sr. and Mary
Ruth Word. She was a 1965 graduate of Miller High School in Macon,
Georgia.

Everyone who knew her could feel her kindness, and she was loved by all
who crossed her path. Carol`s greatest joy and most important role was
caring for her family. She was a loving mother to her three children and a
devoted Granna to Tyler and Camie—titles she cherished deeply.

Survivors include her loving husband of over 57 years, Phillip A Britt, Sr. of
Douglas, Georgia; sister, Brenda (Ronnie) Shivers of Perry, Georgia; three
children, Leahman Britt (Jennifer) of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Allison Bennett
(Scott) of Dexter, Georgia, and Phillip Britt Jr. of Douglas, Georgia; two
grandchildren, Camie Renee Britt of Collins, Georgia and Tyler Comer
(Olivia) of Douglas, Georgia; and one great grandchild, Cambrie Davis of Collins, Georgia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Ruth Word; as
well as three siblings, Robert W. Word Jr., Douglas Word, and John Word.
