Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2014 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Byromville Baptist Church in Byromville, GA. Burial will follow in Swearingen Cemetery.
Mr. Fountain was born on February 4, 1932 in Dooly County, GA to the late Horace Fountain and Mattie Bell Pickard. He served as a maintenance worker in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Dowdy Fountain.
Mr. Fountain is survived by his children, Janice (Jimmy) Gauthier of Byromville, GA, Alison Fountain of Byromville, GA, Amy (Ryan) Langford of Byromville, GA, and Kenny Fountain of Cleveland Heights, OH; a sister, Katie Ansley of Ochlocknee, GA; and two sisters-in-law, Doris Fountain of Perry, GA, and Frances Fountain of Tucson, AZ. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Jamie Gauthier, Mary Jo Gauthier, Joshua Gauthier, Austin Langford, Sabrina Bowen, and Samantha Bowen; eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Swearingen Cemetery.
