SPARTANBURG, SC - Billy Lloyd Manning, age 74, of Spartanburg, SC, formerly of Oglethorpe, GA passed away Monday, October 24, 2011 at his residence.

Memorialization will be by cremation and no formal service will be held.

Billy was born on March 28, 1937 in Nichols, GA to the late Mary Lee Moore Manning andWilburn Lloyd Manning. He was a graduate of University of Georgia and Georgia Tech. He was a retired aeronautical engineer and a member of New Life Baptist Church in Oglethorpe. He was a very affectionate father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by a son, David Biles of Spartanburg, SC; two daughters, Tammra Parretta and husband Jack of Lakewood, WA, Heather Smith and husband Clark of Leesburg, GA; two brothers, James Manning and wife Jeanette of Oglethorpe, GA and Allen Manning of Americus, GA; two sisters, Dorothy Greer of Oglethorpe, GA and Karen Keene and husband David of Oglethorpe, GA; nine grandchildren, Andrew Rose and wife Lisa of Lakewood, WA, Ryan Adams of Auburn, AL, Jennifer Parretta of Lakewood, WA, Anna Kelly of Leesburg, GA, John Eric Smith of Leesburg, GA, David "E.L." Biles of Malone, FL, Matthew Biles of Malone, FL, Brandon Biles of Malone, FL and MacKenzie Saxton of Spartanburg, SC; two great grandchildren, Seth Biles of Malone, FL and Phoebe Biles of Malone, FL; 4 nieces, 9 nephews, 3 great nieces and 11 great nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Paretta.

Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma is in charge funeral arrangements.
