OGLETHORPE, GA - Billie D. Lockwood, age 76, of Oglethorpe, GA, passed away Friday, July 03, 2015 at The Oaks Nursing and Personal Care Home in Marshallville, GA. Visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Oglethorpe Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow with Rev. Chet Ragsdale and Joshua Moncrief officiating the service. Burial will follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Lockwood was born August 28, 1938 in Dalton, GA to the late D.H. Brown and Eunice Cleary Brown. Mrs. Lockwood was a caregiver to the elderly for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Lockwood.
Mrs. Lockwood is survived by a nephew: Timothy Lee Brown of Ozark, AL; three nieces: Tonya Faye Brown of Americus, GA, Cynthia Denise O'Neil of Cullman, AL, and Debra Ann Brown of Oglethorpe, GA. A host of great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews also survive. She also leaves behind special friends: Shirley Martin, Rufus and Nell Jones, Floyd and Billie Rooks, Charles and Carolyn Stafford, Kenny and Paula Stafford, and her church friends and family.
