MONTEZUMA, GA - Mrs. Betty Stubbs Fokes, age 87, of Montezuma, Georgia passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at her daughter's home in Americus, Georgia.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 in the Watson-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hosie Waters officiating.Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park in Montezuma, GA.
Mrs. Betty was born March 25, 1930 in Macon, Georgia to the late William Eugene Stubbs and Effie Perry Stubbs. She was employed for over 15 years as a bus driver with the Macon County Board of Education.
Survivors include her two sons: Jack Lewis and Lynn Fokes, Jr. of Buena Vista, Georgia and James H. and Tamara Faith Fokes of Oglethorpe, Georgia, one daughter, Dorothy Lillian and Al Manning of Americus, Georgia, one grandchild, Nicholas Fokes Brooks of Americus, Georgia along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Lewis Fokes, Sr. and two sisters: Ann Hughes and Jean Davis.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Phoebe Sumter Hospice, P.O. Box 1434, Americus, Georgia 31709.
