He was born in Americus, Georgia on December 24, 1948 to the late Norman Manor and Mary Alice Odom. His friends most often referred to him as "Indian". He loved fishing, playing pool and gardening. Benny was of Baptist Faith and was employed by Gibson Poultry Farms in Montezuma, Georgia.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Georgia.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Bonnie Faye Odom of Montezuma, Georgia; four children: Johnny Odom of Jacksonville, Florida, Angelita Sanders of Houston, Texas, Gregory Shannon Mygrant (Melissa) of Byromville, Georgia and Brandy Odom (Glen Akridge) of Montezuma, Georgia; a brother, Murray Powell (Cathy) of Leesburg, Georgia and two sisters: Deborah Powell of Cordele, Georgia and Maria Price (David) of Clearwater, Florida.Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted.
