Oglethorpe, GA - Ben Marvin Mygrant, age 66, of Oglethorpe, GA, passed away Saturday morning, November 5, 2011 at his residence.
A viewing will be held from 7 - 9 PM, Tuesday, Nov. 8 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, Nov. 9 at New Life Baptist Church in Oglethorpe with Rev. Tim Ferguson and Chaplain Will Archibald officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Felton Cemetery in Montezuma.
Ben was born on Nov. 22, 1944 in Montezuma, GA to the late Linwood Mygrant and Bertha Mae Mygrant. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving four years during the Vietnam War. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church and enjoyed watching sports in his spare time. He was a tool technician with Collins and Aikman Products Company in Americus, before his retirement.
Survivors include his loving wife, Faye Whittington Mygrant of Oglethorpe, GA; son, Benjamin Brian (Rebecca) Mygrant of Andersonville, GA; three step-sons, Marty Robbins of Montezuma, GA, Scott (Brenda) Robbins of Essex, VT and A. J. Robbins of Warner Robins, GA; seven siblings, Doris (Billy) Thames of Henderson, GA, Peggy Smith of Pine Level, AL, Geneva (Jimmy) Johnson of Vienna, GA, Eugene Mygrant of Byron, GA, Dianne (Milton) Layfield of Bonaire, GA, Steve (Loraine) Mygrant of Warner Robins, GA and Bonnie (Bennie) Odom of Montezuma, GA; seven grandchildren, Kim Robbins of Macon, GA, Dylan and Sarah Robbins of Essex, VT, Alexis Robbins of Flovilla, GA, Malorey Mygrant of Andersonville, GA, Marshall and Sylas Mygrant of Andersonville, GA; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma is in charge of funeral arrangements.
