Barbara Skipper

Barbara Skipper, age 82, of Reynolds, Georgia, passed away on March 10, 2025.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 6-8 pm at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Georgia. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 11am at First Baptist Church in Montezuma, Georgia. Pastor Johnny Brooks will be officiating. Burial will follow at Bertha-Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery.

Barbara was born on September 28, 1942 to the late James “Snook” Hobbs and Jean Hobbs. For the majority of her life she worked at Manhattan Shirt Company in Americus, Georgia and Blue Bird Company in Fort Valley, Georgia. She loved baking cakes and would make any cake someone requested.

She is survived by her son, Wade Skipper (Christa Smiley); two grandchildren, Hunter Skipper (Madeline) and Hoke Skipper; six siblings, Irene Goree, Barney Hobbs, Janice Poole (Ricky), Ronnie Hobbs (Terri), Donnie Hobbs (Laura), and Ricky Hobbs (Barbara).

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Skipper; parents, James "Snook" Hobbs, and Jean Hobbs; two siblings, Benny Hobbs and Margie Hobbs; and uncle, Jack Hobbs.
