Mrs. Barbara Starke Naftal, age 87, of Oglethorpe, Georgia, entered into rest on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Sumter Phoebe Hospital in Americus, Georgia.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home and Pastor John Homer and Pastor Joy Wilson will officiate.The family will receive friends from
4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Mrs. Barbara was employed as a plant assigner with Southern Bell and AT & T from which she later retired. She was a member of Oglethorpe Methodist Church and beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 13 years, Gerald Naftal, Sr. of Oglethorpe, Georgia; three children, Gerald E. Naftal, Jr. of Homestead, Florida, Terrence Kevin Naftal of Goodland, Florida and Eugenia Strong and husband, Maurice of Blue Grass, Iowa.She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Jason Robert Naftal (Heather Ann), Heather Michelle Petersen (Nathan), Crystal Strong Werthmann (Spencer), Priscilla Strong Riley, Katarina Strong, Austyn Strong, Hunter Strong and 14 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Oglethorpe United Methodist Church, P.O Box 427, Oglethorpe, Georgia 31068.

Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA has been entrusted with the arrangements for Mrs.Barbara Starke Naftal.
