MARIETTA, GA - Barbara Ann Morris Dunlap, 79, of Marietta, GA passed away on Tuesday, November 3rd of natural causes. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Myers will officiate the service.
She was born on November 1, 1936 to the late James Burr Morris and Jane Tyson Morris. She grew up in Montezuma, GA where she attended school and graduated from Montezuma High School with the class of 1954. She was also a graduate of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC). Following graduation she moved to Atlanta to work for John Deere for a number of years. After spending some time at home with her children she worked for Cobb County Board of Education until her retirement. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her only sibling, Donald L. Morris.
She is survived by her sons Shannon Keith Dunlap (Jane) of LaGrange, GA, Jay (Dani) Morris Dunlap of Lawrenceville, GA, grandsons, Brandon Keith Dunlap of Athens, Zachary Ryan Dunlap (Hannah Marie) of Fayetteville, NC, Daniel James Dunlap of Hopkinsville, KY, granddaughter Hannah Jane Dunlap of Winder, GA, and great granddaughter Kai Dunlap of Fayetteville, NC. She is also survived by her beloved sister-in-law, Marsha Alligood Morris of Montezuma, a very special niece Holly Morris Hann of Rome, GA, and several first and second cousins.
Barbara will be remembered for her love and unwavering dedication, sacrifice, and service to her family and friends.
