MONTEZUMA, GA - Mrs. Ann Childree Satterfield, 95 of Montezuma passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Montezuma Health Care Facility.
A graveside service will be held on 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Cedar Valley Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Scarborough officiating.Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Watson Mathews Funeral Home.
She was born in Ochlockee, Georgia on September 30, 1920 to the late William Lewis Childree and Minnie Mae Barnhill. Mrs. Ann was one of the first telephone operators for the Montezuma area, worked at the Montezuma Knitting Mill and later at Forest Mills.
Mrs. Ann is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Wesley Satterfield, two sisters, Betty Bailey and Fannie Goldman, brothers; Calvin Childree, Melvin Childree, and one great-grandchild, Josh Joiner.
She is survived by her son, James "Don" (Marilyn) Satterfield of Montezuma, Georgia, two grandsons, Tony (Dustie) Satterfield of Ideal, Georgia, and Brian Satterfield of Enigma, two great grandchildren, Chelsea Satterfield of Enigma, Georgia and Carrie Joiner of Ideal, Georgia, one sister, Margie Kennedy of Thomasville, Georgia and one sister-in-law, Ellen Turner of Ideal, Georgia.
