Alvin Wendell Peavy

Vienna, GA - Alvin Wendell Peavy, age 61, of Vienna, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012 at his residence.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 6, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 2 pm in the chapel at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Peavy was born on August 21, 1950 to the late Julius Alvin Peavy and Gladys Bellflower Peavy. He was a retired Senior Operations Manager with Allens, Inc. and served in the Georgia National Guard.

Mr. Peavy is survived by his wife, Jean Peavy, of Vienna, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Brandi Peavy of Warner Robins, Georgia; and daughter, Stacy Peavy of Macon, Georgia; a brother, Bob Peavy of Cordele, Georgia; and a sister, Melaney Lewis of Cordele, Georgia. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jaxon and Brooklynn Peavy of Warner Robins.

Flowers will be accepted as will memorial contributions to The American Cancer Society c/o Joyce Liggin, 120 South Dooly Street, Montezuma, GA 31063.

Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma is in charge of funeral arrangements.
